"Dead Man's Tale"

SYNOPSIS: A married couple, Philip and Jan Werris, teeter on the brink of desperation, having lost their
farm and gone broke. While staying in a frontier town, however, they discover a goldminer's handbook
in their hotel room. It leads to the Werrises uncovering a tale of greed in which two brothers see their trust
in each other shattered by the power of human avarice.

COMMENTARY: A variation of the paranormal concept of automatic writing, automatic typing, is the
phenomenon dramatized in this episode. Philip Werris types out a story that he claims to have no first-hand
knowledge about. He pounds it out on the typewriter as if in a trance . . .
