SYNOPSIS: A young confederate soldier and his dog are captured while trying to steal food from a Union
supply depot. A hard-drinking and malicious Union colonel frames the boy for espionage and plans to
execute him a dawn. During the night the colonel kills the boy's dog, but the dog nevertheless arrives at
the gallows at daylight to protect his master's life.

COMMENTARY: This episode is a testament to the bond that can sometimes develop between man and
animal. Here even death cannot stop a loyal dog from protecting his master. A pet's psychic connection
with its master is an interesting topic, that has precedent in paranormal circles . . .
