"Forked Lightning"
November 17 1959.

** Spoiler Alert **

SYNOPSIS: As a thunderstorm gathers high above the city, forked lightning spurs a double premonition
in two separate individuals. One woman, Ellen Chambers, dreams of her husband's death at the bank where
he works. At the same time, a widower caring for his wheelchair-bound daughter realizes his own death will
occur on that very day.

COMMENTARY: In an expression of nihilism rare to the series, this thoroughly depressing episode presents
a variety of sympathetic characters (including a disabled child) and then confronts them with tragic fates as
the mechanisms of double premonition and destiny lead them inexorably to disaster . . .
