SYNOPSIS: An aging countess dies, strangled to death by her seemingly sentient diamond necklace.
After her death the necklace passes to a new owner and continues its murderous legacy. Through it
all a gold-digging boyfriend plots to steal the jewels and get rich. He finally gets the necklace and
offers it as a gift to his young mistress . . . with terrifying results.
COMMENTARY: The episode opens not with John Newland on the sidelines as simple narrator, but
in the center of the action at hand. We are told (by voice-over) that Newland was recently on vacation
in Mexico City when he heard a strange story at a local watering hotel . . .
