SEASON 2 EPISODE 29. (51)

"Encounter"
April 12 1960.

** Spoiler Alert **

SYNOPSIS: While in flight, a commercial pilot spots a U.F.O. and snaps a roll of film before both he and
the plane vanish into thin air. And exhaustive search commences, before the pilot reappears mysteriously
in a desert over a thousand miles away, claiming to have been abducted.

COMMENTARY: This episode is an early example of one of modern science fiction's most common (and
most cherished) stories: the alien abduction. It displays a healthy curiosity about non-human life and the
prospect that extraterrestrials have visited Earth. As one character lays out the argument so succinctly: Man
is on the verge of space exploration, so is it impossible to believe that somebody else out there beat him to it (?)
