"The Explorer"
March 15 1960.

** Spoiler Alert **

SYNOPSIS: A famous explorer visits a geography teacher to tell him a bizarre story. On his last trip to
the Sahara, the explorer's guide was killed and he became lost in the desert until Eric, the geography
teacher's son, led them to water and salvation. But Eric's parents reveal that Eric died in bed the previous
summer from a spinal disorder that had rendered him paralyzed for the past ten years.

COMMENTARY: One of the characters in this episode declares that the desert can do "strange things"
to a man's mind. And indeed, that is one possible explanation for the events in this story. Is Eric merely
a mirage to the three lost men who are lost and dying of thirst . . . (?)
