SYNOPSIS: A bickering husband and wife attempt to repair their crumbling marriage while summering
at their lakeside cottage in Connecticut. After a particularly sobering coming to terms, Mrs. Graham gets
the last laugh when she walks into her house and disappears without a trace. Consequently, her husband,
at a loss for an explanation, is held for murder.
COMMENTARY: To vanish, to literally pass out of existence, is to silence all argument forever. To vanish
is to leave matters unfinished and people perpetually wondering. To vanish is to do much worse than die,
because in death at least there is an ending. The horror genre is filled with stories of people who disappear . . .
